The Reflection & Dialogue Series provides space for faculty and staff to engage in dialogue surrounding pressing issues, themes, and current events that significantly impact both the md´«Ã½¹ú²ú¾ç College community and the world.
Reflection & Dialogue Series: Perspectives
The Office of the Vice President for Human Resources (OVPHR) is pleased to offer theÌýReflection & Dialogue Series: Perspectives, an evidence-based program developed by the Constructive Dialogue Institute (CDI) that equips participants with practical skills to engage in dialogue bridging varied perspectives.ÌýÌý
At the heart of Perspectives is the practice of constructive dialogue —a conversation where people with different perspectives seek understanding, without compromising their own beliefs, so they can live, learn, and work together more effectively. It is about being heard and hearing others, staying connected despite differences, and creating spaces where people can speak honestly, listen generously, and move forward together.
This program equips our community with practical skills to engage across differences through a blend of asynchronous learning and in-person peer-to-peer discussions facilitated by the OVPHR team. Participants are expected to complete each asynchronous lesson (approximately 1–1.5 hours) within the designated timeframe prior to the corresponding in-person constructive dialogue discussion. These in-person discussions are scheduled for 2 hours each. To make the most of the experience, participants should complete the lessons in advance and come prepared to listen actively, share respectfully, and practice the dialogue skills introduced in the coursework.

Reflection & Dialogue Series: Access & Opportunity
Presented by the Office of the Vice President for Human Resources (OVPHR), this three-part series invites all md´«Ã½¹ú²ú¾ç College faculty and staff to explore practical ways to advance accessibility, inclusion, and equitable opportunity in the workplace.
Each session focuses on a key dimension of accessibility—digital, instructional, and structural—while connecting these efforts to md´«Ã½¹ú²ú¾ç College’s mission of fostering belonging and holistic participation for all members of the community. Participants will gain awareness of institutional responsibilities under accessibility standards such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and will leave with practical strategies they can apply in their everyday work—whether designing web content, creating presentations, or supporting colleagues through the accommodation process.
